Buying guide

How to choose a freestanding outdoor shower

A freestanding outdoor shower stands on its own instead of hanging on a wall, so it can go on a pool deck, beside a garden path or at the end of a dock. The pedestal style here uses a single post or column with the shower head on top, a slimmer look than a flat shower panel.

Features to compare

Every model has an overhead shower head, many with a wide rainfall head. Several Magnus models add a foot shower near the base, and the Barren and Muhlenberg add a hand shower. The No Worries Lamez comes in silver, gold and black 316L stainless, and the Bondi Double Head has two heads so two people can rinse at once.

Water supply

Check the valve on each model: some are hot and cold mixers and need both supply lines, while others are built for a single supply line. The Magnus Kayin, for example, uses a single 1/2 inch inlet. If you only have cold water, a single-line model keeps the plumbing simple.

Mounting and drainage

Freestanding showers bolt to a level concrete pad or footing with the supply line coming up through the base. Plan where the water goes, such as a gravel bed, a drain or a slope away from the house. Want a flat panel with a mixer, hand shower and foot spout built in? See our outdoor shower panels.

Contact us →
What is a pedestal outdoor shower?
A pedestal outdoor shower is a freestanding shower built on a single post or column, with the shower head on top and the valve on the post. It stands on its own and does not need a wall.
How do you install a freestanding outdoor shower?
Most bolt to a level concrete pad or footing, with the water line brought up from below through the base. Each product page lists the pipe heights and fittings. We recommend a licensed plumber for hot water connections.
Can a freestanding shower run on cold water only?
Yes. Models built for a single supply line work on cold water. Mixer models need hot and cold lines for warm water.
Do freestanding outdoor showers ship free?
Yes. Shipping is free on every outdoor shower, and we only collect sales tax on orders shipped to Georgia.
