Why choose a 316 stainless steel outdoor shower

Not all stainless steel outdoor showers are equal. Near the ocean or a pool, the grade of steel decides how the shower looks after a few seasons.

316 vs. 304 stainless steel

304 is the most common stainless steel. 316 adds molybdenum, which gives it much better resistance to chlorides, the salt in sea air and the chlorine in pool water. That is why 316 is called marine grade. 316L is a low-carbon version of 316 with the same corrosion resistance.

Where 316 matters most

Choose 316 for beach houses, docks, coastal homes and pool decks, where salt and chlorine land on the shower every day. Inland and away from pools, 304 can do fine, but 316 still gives you more margin.

Keep it looking new

Even marine-grade steel benefits from care. Rinse the shower with fresh water now and then, wipe off any surface spots with a mild stainless cleaner, and cover freestanding models in the off season with a protective cover.

Contact us →
Is 316 stainless steel worth it for an outdoor shower?
If the shower is near the ocean or a pool, yes. 316 resists salt and chlorine much better than 304, so it keeps its finish longer.
What is the difference between 316 and 316L?
316L is a low-carbon version of 316. For an outdoor shower, both give you the same marine-grade corrosion resistance.
Can 316 stainless steel rust?
It is highly resistant, but surface spots can still form if salt and dirt sit on it. Rinse it with fresh water now and then and wipe spots off with a mild stainless cleaner.
Do stainless outdoor showers ship free?
Yes. Shipping is free on every outdoor shower, and we only collect sales tax on orders shipped to Georgia.
